PullN4You Charity Strongman Events – Lifting Up Those In Need!

When you can turn your fitness passion into a vehicle to help others then you are on a great path! Northern California native Jayson Wigney has found a way to do just that. Jayson founded PullN4You, a non-profit company that organizes and promotes strongman competitions as a way to raise money to help cancer patients and their families. As a long-time iron warrior and fitness enthusiast, Jayson has a great appreciation for the body and what it can do at it’s best. His compassion and concern for those who are less fortunate and face extreme challenges due to illness shows a quality of character that is beyond admirable. PullN4You has two upcoming events within the next few weeks and plans to create a fun and inspiring atmosphere for athletes, fans, supporters, and those in need.

Bodysport: So Jayson, where are you from and where are you presently located?

Jayson: I was born and raised in San Jose, CA, I’m currently living in Manteca, CA.

Bodysport: What’s the name of your company?

Jayson: Pullin4You

Bodysport: How did you first get involved in fitness?

Jayson: I began lifting weights at 16 years old in a high school weight room. I am a retired correctional officer and currently executive director of PULLN4YOU Charity Strength Exhibition.

Bodysport: When did you develop an interest in strongman competitions and why did you decide to promote your own?

Jayson: I began my love for Strongman 18 years ago by watching the great Bill Kazmaier but there wasn’t as much social media or internet info to learn as much as there is today. So I began doing Strongman about 6 years ago. I began putting my training videos on social media and it was inspirational to a friend battling cancer. I motivated them to try a little more and in turn they pushed me to try harder for them and Pulln4you became a spark.

The strongman community is a unique and caring one and I believe that the combination would be an unstoppable force in the name of helping others. So I created events that most people think would be impossible feats of strength. But we make the impossible possible. Just like those battling Cancer. Some days feel impossible to them but with our support, we help them keep going.

Bodysport: What type of events take place at your competitions and who are your typical competitors?

Jayson: There will always be some version of DL and truck pull at any of my events and my events generally are geared towards the novice Strongman competitor. I believe that they are challenging enough for all levels of athletes, but it’s for charity and fun. My goal is to always create a fantastic athlete experience and still not lose focus of why we are there or the overall mission and that is to raise money to help those impacted by cancer.

Bodysport: It’s great that the proceeds are all going to a non-profit organization, can you give us more details and background on this?

Jayson: Pulln4you is modeled similarly to the Make-A-Wish foundation in that cancer and its treatment can be devastating to individuals and families. Pulln4you has been able to and continues to strive to be able to help families make positive memories, despite what the cancer is doing. We also do a toy drive 2x a year for kids in the hospital. Future goals are to provide holiday meals for families that are going through treatment and don’t feel strong enough to do holiday activities, and ultimately to create a scholarship program for kids left behind if a parent passes away.

Bodysport: What would you tell someone who’s never been to a strongman competition before that you would like them to know?

Jayson: I think you either love Strongman or you don’t. My job as an event promoter is to make it as entertaining as possible for everyone including 1st timers and athletes. As my organization grows, I’m learning to put on a better show, and increasing communication about what’s going on helps 1st timers enjoy the show.

Bodysport: I understand you have two events coming up very soon. Can you give us more details on them along with the dates and locations?

Jayson: September 23rd, 2023 in Manteca, CA is my 3rd year in this location. And this is where it all started. This year is the best athlete turnout to date! October 8th is at South Bay Strength Company in LA. It is their very 1st Strongman event and the amount of support down there is unbelievable. I’ve been very blessed

Bodysport: Where would you like to take your company/events over the next 5-10 years?

Jayson: My goal is to host events in every state and every country. Without sacrificing my integrity Without losing sight of the mission or goal. I’ve already had to remind myself a few times that what you want, what you wish for, and your ambition cannot be rushed. Sometimes you need to take it slower than you want to achieve the right results. Where would “I like to be” in 5 years? Everywhere!

Bodysport: If anyone needs more info on competing, attending, or supporting your events what’s the best way to contact you?
